Answer: If you feel uncomfortable or the ear canal does not fit after wearing, please contact our customer service email service@flysounds.com in time to feedback the problem, and we will provide you with suitable dome/mold replacement suggestions and follow-up solutions.

Q3-3: How to adjust EQ for better listening experience?

Answer: The hearing aid supports custom EQ adjustment, which can be fine-tuned according to the scene:
1. Excessive background noise in quiet environment: Appropriately lower the low frequency below 1000Hz.
2. Want to enhance human voice in outdoor/noisy environment: Appropriately increase the medium frequency of 1000-4000Hz.
3. Harsh sound, squeal or intermittent sound: Appropriately lower the high frequency above 4000Hz.
4. If the effect becomes worse after self-adjustment, you can reset the EQ again.

Q3-4: What if the Speech Focus effect of the hearing aid is not obvious?

Answer: The Speech Focus function only has a certain effect on enhancing human voice in noisy environments. If you feel the effect is not obvious or does not meet your needs during use, it is recommended to turn off this function directly in the APP.

Q3-5: What if the hearing aid has loud noise?

Answer: The hearing aid amplifies all external sounds, and while amplifying human voice, it will inevitably amplify environmental noise. If you feel the noise is loud, you can first lower the volume; if your average hearing loss is lower than 60dB, you can also try replacing it with a single-layer mold, which helps reduce background noise.

Q3-6: How to handle hearing aid feedback/whistling/squealing/howling?

Answer: Improper wearing when using the hearing aid for the first time may cause “feedback” (whistling), especially at maximum volume. Common causes and solutions:
1. Earwax in the ear canal: Clean the earwax first, then re-wear.
2. Poor sealing between earplug and ear canal: Re-wear correctly, gently push the earplug into the ear canal to ensure a tight fit.
3. Hearing aid not fully inserted: Insert the hearing aid completely into the ear canal, and feedback usually stops.
4. During removal: Feedback during removal of the hearing aid is normal, and feedback stops after removal.
5. Aging/damage of hearing aid: Contact after-sales service to replace the hearing aid.
6. Wrong size of earplug: Choose a double-layer dome that fits your ear canal size.
7. Using open or single-layer earplugs: Replace with double-layer earplugs to enhance sealing.
8. Excessive volume: Lower the hearing aid volume appropriately.
9. Open Flysound App, turn on phone Bluetooth to connect the hearing aid, enter the hearing aid control page, click “EQ Adjustment”, turn on EQ function, reduce the gain value of 3000Hz and above frequencies, and adjust gradually until the feedback whistling sound disappears.

Q3-7: How to handle excessive hearing aid noise?

Answer:
1. Open the APP and change the noise reduction level to “High”.
2. Lower the hearing aid volume.
3. Enable the “Speech Focus” function in the APP to suppress background noise.

Q3-8: The noise seems loud when wearing the hearing aid for the first time.

Answer: It is normal if first-time users feel loud noise and discomfort. Users with hearing loss receive less ambient noise before wearing hearing aids. After wearing, hearing aids amplify both speech and background noise at the same time. First-time users should wear hearing aids for at least 2 hours a day on average, and the brain will gradually adapt to the noise to get the best wearing experience.

Q3-9: How to choose the right earplug?

Answer:
1. If you feel the earplug is too loose or too tight after first wearing, choose other sizes from the accessories.
2. If the sound is harsh or feedback or intermittent sound occurs, it is caused by the loose fit between the dome and the ear canal, resulting in sound leakage from the ear canal. Please try other sizes of double-layer earplugs to ensure a tight fit until no feedback or intermittent sound occurs.
3. It is common to have a stuffy feeling (ear stuffiness) when first using the device. If you have mild hearing loss, it is recommended to use single-layer or open earplugs to minimize this blockage feeling; for moderate hearing loss, it is recommended to use single-layer domes to reduce stuffy feeling.

Q3-10: Why does my own sound sound loud?

Answer: It is normal to hear your own sound loudly at first, because the hearing aid amplifies both others’ and your own sound. After wearing for more than 1 week, the brain will gradually adapt. In addition, if you have mild hearing loss (within 40dB hearing loss), it is recommended to use single-layer or open earplugs; for moderate hearing loss (within 60dB hearing loss), it is recommended to use single-layer domes to reduce excessive amplification of your own sound.

Q3-11: Why is there a stuffy/blocked feeling in the ear when wearing the hearing aid?

Answer: Initial blockage feeling is common, similar to wearing in-ear headphones, caused by low-frequency sound retained in the ear canal. After wearing for more than 2 weeks, the ear will gradually adapt and this feeling will be reduced. In addition:
1. If you have mild hearing loss (within 40dB hearing loss), it is recommended to use single-layer or open earplugs; for moderate hearing loss (within 60dB hearing loss), it is recommended to use single-layer domes to reduce stuffy feeling.
2. Open Flysound App, turn on phone Bluetooth to connect the hearing aid, enter the hearing aid control page, click “EQ Adjustment”, turn on EQ function, reduce the gain value of 0Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz and lower frequency bands (set to negative numbers), and adjust gradually until the blockage feeling is eliminated (this function is only supported by Android phones).

Q3-12: How to use the tinnitus management function?

Answer: After wearing the hearing aid, open the Flysound APP, turn on phone Bluetooth, find and connect to the “hearing aid” device; in the “Tinnitus Management” section of the APP, click “Play” on the white noise option, and white noise will be played through the hearing aid to help mask tinnitus.

Q3-13: How to use the Speech Focus function?

Answer: The Speech Focus function enhances speech clarity by amplifying the sound directly in front of you while suppressing sounds from the side and rear. Just enable “Speech Focus” in the APP; to clearly hear sounds from the side or rear, disable “Speech Focus” in the APP.

Q3-14: Can’t hear speech clearly in noisy environments?

Open the APP, connect the hearing aid, and enable the “Speech Focus” function. The hearing aid will amplify the sound directly in front of you while suppressing sounds from the side and rear, thereby improving speech clarity.

Q3-15: Continuous background noise/static noise after wearing?

This is normal. The hearing aid amplifies ambient sounds while amplifying its own working current noise. It can be reduced by the following methods:
1. After connecting the hearing aid via the APP, switch scenes and set the noise reduction level to high.
2. Lower the hearing aid volume appropriately.
3. Enable EQ, set the EQ value of 0Hz–1000Hz frequency band to -5.
4. Wear continuously for 2–3 weeks to gradually adapt to the background noise.

Q4-1: What should I do if the hearing aid sound is intermittent?

Reason: When the hearing aid produces feedback, the feedback suppression function will cause the sound to be intermittent.
Solutions:
1. Clean the ear canal and check for earwax buildup.
2. Replace the hearing aid dome with a double-layer dome and choose the size that fits your ear canal.
3. When wearing, insert the hearing aid dome completely into the ear canal to ensure a tight fit and prevent sound leakage.
As long as the air dome fits tightly with the ear canal and no sound leaks, feedback will not occur, and the intermittent sound problem will be resolved.

Q4-2: After wearing for a period of time, the hearing aid volume becomes lower and unclear?

Solutions:
1. Adjust the volume: Increase the volume via the hearing aid buttons, remote control, or supporting APP.
2. Clean the sound outlet and wax guard: Remove the dome, check if the speaker outlet is blocked by earwax; use the included cleaning brush to clean the dome and wax guard, then use the wax guard replacement kit to replace the wax guard at the speaker outlet.
3. Re-fit hearing: Re-conduct hearing fitting through the APP to optimize listening effect.

Q4-3: What if the hearing aid still has sound, abnormal noise or feedback after being put into the charging case?

Answer: This is usually because the charging case has low power and cannot make the hearing aid turn off automatically normally.
Check the charging case indicator: If only 1 light is on or no light is on, it means the power is too low.
Solution: Connect the charging case to a USB charging cable to charge, and the hearing aid will turn off normally without feedback and abnormal noise.

Q4-4: What if the hearing aid suddenly has no sound, recovers after a few to ten seconds, and occurs repeatedly?

Answer: This situation is mainly caused by feedback from the hearing aid. Sound leaks from the ear canal and is picked up again by the hearing aid microphone, resulting in feedback. The hearing aid will automatically activate the feedback suppression function, causing the sound to disappear temporarily. Solution: Replace with a double-layer mold, choose a mold of the right size and wear it in place to ensure a tight fit between the mold and the ear canal to prevent sound leakage and avoid such problems.

Q4-5: What if the hearing aid gets wet?

Answer:
Step 1: Dry the surface moisture of the hearing aid with a towel or paper towel.
Step 2: Put the hearing aid into the charging case, connect the charging case to the charging cable, and the charging case will automatically start the drying mode after 2 hours.
If the hearing aid still does not work, keep it in the charging case to dry until the function returns to normal.
